So it is possible to get poped by laser at a distance your jammer will not jam at?

Thats odd...

Most of the people on this board are anti V1 for some reason... I have NEVER missed any laser alerts from my V1 EVER...

Can you set off your V1 with your TV remote?

I would say either the cop lied and shot the wrong person or you need to check your receiving diode... but for a V1 to miss a Laser Alert is like saying Hitler was a nice guy...

... oh... post up a pic of where your V1 is mounted.

Yes, the closer you get to the laser gun the less likely the jammer will jam.

I've had my V1 for several years, and this has never happened to me, until recently....

Coming from a suburb of philly

I got caught speeding a few months ago. A paddy-wagon was behind me at a light, I couldn't see his lightbar. So, I took off... I accelerated faster than him off the line so he wasn't exactly driving my speed, but he was driving with me He pulled me over and gave me my exact MPH, the V1 didn't detect anything.

A few days ago, I was cruising around and saw a speed trap. Again with the paddy-wagon, he was dead on me I know it, but the V1 didn't detect anything. Luckily I wasn't speeding that time. Most cruisers sit with their radar on around here. I have a feeling this paddy-wagon had something on, but I could be wrong.

Both instances were within 25 to 100 feet.

My V1 is mounted in an odd position...

In the same area, I detect radar from the cruisers, but not the paddy-wagon. Laser? But doesn't the V1 detect laser?

Same happened to me driving down the interstate saw the trooper coming towards me in south bound lanes. No warnings from V1 whatsoever so I kept crusing along. Next thing I know he hits the median shoots around and pulls me over. I got a warning ticket for 79 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. He was really nice and curteous so I asked him if he got me with RADAR and he said yeah so I said that's weird my radar detector never made a sound he said " Maybe it's broken?"
So who knows???? something weird is going on. The next day I put my V1 on Ebay sold it and bought a Escort 9500i and haven't had a recurrence of the situation yet.

^ It's quite possible for the Escorts to miss "quick trigger" RADAR attacks.

It's very possible for laser detection to be missed, even by the V1.

Although unlikely, this, nevertheless, cannot be conclusively ruled-out.

The other possibility is the use of VASCAR.

Alternatively, it is also possible that your V1 temporarily failed (with no residual harm, thankfully) due to excessive heat. Question - was your unit exposed to prolonged direct sunlight, at the time of the event in-question, or had it just been parked, in-vehicle, for an extended period of time, under the sun?

Mine couldn't have been laser as he was driving towards me in the opposite lanes. Heat could have been a factor as I was heading to work in the early evening in June. VASCAR is not used anywhere in the state here.
