NEW V1 valentine one Radar Detector Highway Patrol ?

Hey guys...Just got a brand new V1 shipped in yesterday so i believe it is the 3.864 version. I was trying it out on the highway today on the way back to school (It was raining). On "A" mode. As i go under an overpass I can see one highway patrol waiting in the median and then take a look in my mirror and see one on the on ramp waiting to chase. The V1 does nothing...I'm lucky i saw the first guy or else i'd be toast. Any Idea what they were shooting that it couldnt detect? I passed right by the guys... I was on I55 highway in Illinois...Haha great first drive

Most likely they weren't ruining anything at the time. Or they could have been ruining laser, no RD is going to alert 100% of the time on laser.

Yep, I'm thinking laser, if you were at or near the posted limit and they were estimating speeds before shooting they probably shot around you. I've had HPD shoot around me because I was at the posted limit. Obviously neither the V1 or the ZR3 goes off in this situation.

Also the farther away from the source the easier to pick up....maybe at the time there was no car they wanted to shoot the laser at.... if you are right on top of them the beam from the laser is so narrow it is very hard for a radar detector to detect...the farther away from the source...the wider the beam of the laser would be....laser is very hard for radar detectors to detect.....but you have the valentine one radar...I think most people on here would agree with me that the valentine one radar is the best detector to have to give you ANY kind of warning against laser...even though it is a a short notice.

I had a RX65 and my Blinder when I was tagged at a very close range coming around a bend on the HWY when I recieved my first ticket, neither alerted me to the threat. I thought it was a fluck but I was wrong a few tickets later.
