Default V1 conflicting with escort 9500i Radar Detector Reviews

I have been a V1 user for many years now. Recently, I decided to go with an escort 9500i in ADDITION to my V1.

So YES, I have BOTH of these in my car at the same time.

First issue I noticed was that the escort appeared to be setting off the X band constantly on the V1, so I disabled X band on the V1 since it is basically worthless.

At FIRST that corrected all the conflicts between the two, at least as far as I could tell.... BUT lately, a new issue has come about.

I bought a 2008 Cadillac Escalade... put both of the units in there. Now about every 30 seconds or so, the V1 gives me a hit on K band.

I figure it must be some signal that the escort is sending at certain intervals or something of that nature. Frankly it is getting really annoying and I want it fixed or I will just have to remove the Escort.

Also, this car is speedy enough that I am considering a Laser Blinder.. What does everyone recommend? I am brand new here, but there seem to be a lot of conflicting suggestions.

Thanks!!

You can only power up one detector at a time. Running two or more simultaneously will cause each to detect each other and erroneously alert.

Sorry, but that is the way it is and there is no fix.

1) 2 radar detectors should never be run at the same time. They will affect performance even if you don’t see anything hapening.

2) The 9500I & the V1 is the best combo to have, awesome choices.

The solution is to install a SPST center off position toggle switch to switch from one to another or just keep one off when you are using the other.

I would suggest the V1 for all highway use and the 9500I for local city driving.

Like the others here have said, don't run two radar detectors at the same time - in the majority of cases, you're going to run into issues, and what's worse, not all of these issues are as easily "visualized" as what you saw in terms of the X-band cross-talk:

Radar Detector Tests and Reviews by Guys of LIDAR

This GOL article explains the technical considerations.

Yes, there are some interesting/special "combos" that allow for a "dual detector" scenario to be possible, but for a beginning detector user, it's better to just stick to the GOL's suggestions above, and simply not worry about trying to find such a setup.

Just stick with one detector, you'll be better off. In a tactical sense, it also will allow you to breed intimate familiarity with how your detector reports different threats, which is VITAL to your ability to properly act as the "final filter," and to respond to its alerts in the appropriate manner.

---

With respect to jammers, I would, at this point in time, recommend (in no particular order) looking towards a dual-head setup of either the Laser Interceptor or AntiLaser or a three-head setup of the Laser Pro Park, due to the frontal profile and hardpoint concerns on your large vehicle.

With the Blinder, you'll want to use the four-head setup (the M45), and even then, it may not e able to offer you the area-coverage you need, despite its requirements for mounting real-estate.

Default Dual Detectors

Ok... Sold the 9500i

I guess I will look into investing in a LPP setup... that seems to be the one everyone recommends.

Any comments on the wireless setup for it? Does it cause any delay? Is it a good setup?

go with the dual head LPP Laser Pro Park, what kind of vehicle will this be put on. Also invest in the Valentine One Radar and mount it up high by your rear view mirror. that is the ultimate setup!
I have a direct wire for the LPP.... it is cheaper and not hard to install....just find a local audio store in the area and they can install it.. i found this one shop for like 50 bucks or so, just make sure they read the manual when installing and they are leveling the heads and they are pointing straight!
