for $400 why don't you just buy a new one? New V1's are $399.99.

Now I know you can't get a V1 shipped to Canada but you don't want to ruin a $400 detector in canada where they are illegal cause the V1 is detected by RDD's..I would suggest a BEL STi

Yes it has protection from the VG-2.
But Canada has been switching over to Spectre which the V1 will be detected.
You will just lose a $400 detector. The only choice you have in a RD restricted location is the STI from BEL or the Passport 9500ci.

Either go STI, or keep an ample supply of cheap Cobras on hand as the hand over decoy. (Hand the cop the cobra instead of the V1)

I have used a Cobra XRS 9775 which I bought for like 80$ on ebay and saved me at least 2000$+ of tickets on many many occasions.

What's a good price for used Bel Sti or Passport 9500ci?

Well used 9500ci is just not going to exist yet. They have not released it.
An STI I would just get it new. That way you get the latest firmware version that has the fixes for 33.8 and I think the rampup problem fixed.

I see a new one on ebay for 440 shipped, is that a good price for it, or just stick to Cobra's with Spectre and VG2 Immunity?

Kind of on a budget, 400 was my max to invest in it now for a good one or like 100 for a run of the mill detector.
