Default Valentine 1 Remote Radar Laser Detector

I found this on 1stradardetectors. com. It's a remote V1 that is installed somewhere in the grille. Here are some details: "The Valentine One Remote Radar Detector is designed for hidden installation in the grille, under the bumper of a truck or SUV, or above on the ski rack or luggage rack of an SUV. Although some other remote radar detectors are smaller in size, the Valentine 1 Remote Radar Detector offers a wide range of capabilities, and its performance compared to other remote radar detectors is outstanding."

"The Valentine 1 Remote radar detector can provide 10 miles radar detection distance. It will detect hidden radar traps on the other side of a hill, before you get to the top of the hill. K and X band radar detection is also quite good. Speed Measurement Labs has tested the Valentine 1 Remote radar detector as part of the PRS1-V package, and the results are better than many windshield mounted radar detectors. And with its Narrowband Ka and Ku features, the Valentine 1 radar detector is superb for European and Asian drivers."

It looks rather "home made" compared to the STi remote install.

Retails for $899.95. For that, I would rather get two windshield mounted V1's and accessories.

I hope this is not a repost.

PS. Admin please move to V1 section.

899.00 is a lot of money, does that include the V1 as well?? and ten mile range on radar.... I highly doubt...

uh, it just looks like a metal box filled with foam to hold a v1, and in the pics they are using an old 1.7 v1...

they use a corvette in there example, but the box looks like it barely sticks out the front... I guess they cut a hole in the front of the car??? then they put the front liscense plate cover back over the v1 to show how stealth it is.... but wouldn't that also block all radar signals? also if you have it sticking out the front you lose all rear detection.

in the manual they say for an suv or something similiar you can mount it under the car (under the bumper) which they claim would retain some rear detection. but I highly doubt your detection to the front or rear would be anywhere near as good as if you had just stuck it high up on the windshield like the manual says.

they also sell a version utilizing two v1's and two seperate remote displays, which is rediculous, and it is double the price...

if you want a remote radar detector I suggest you stick to the ones that were created for that exact purpose...

I always liked this idea because the front of your car is going to get hit with radar 1st and the V1 with its nice remote display would work very well.
I don’t think it’s a bad idea at all and most of the units designed for this suck.

Ok... so like why not just buy a bel rx75 or escort sr7 complete package. That way you get some laser defense and about equal radar detection for less money. What a joke.

You are right,BUT the main ValentineOne feature will not work...you know, the ARROWS!
That's the main flaw of remote mounted ValentineOne.
