Default More Anti-Whistler Bias From That OTHER Site

Roy did a review of the Pro-78 Rev C. He said only good things about it. WHen he tested Rev B, he gave it 4 badges, and while he acknowledges it has improved with Rev C, it SOMEHOW slides to a 3-badge review.

It's sad when an allegedly neutral site goes downhill and can't even make their reviews coherent. If his comments matched the badges and vice versa, I could handle it, but they don't

Wonder where that payoff is coming from...

He doesnt what the sales of his Belscort RD's to slide. Roy only does biased reviews to get more sales.

When it comes to money or making money. People will say or lean things in any direction they want in order to ensure that the money they get is constant. It's hard to run a honest site when your making money in one hand and typing with another.

You may be right, but I'd almost bet there's some direct compensation going on, too.

Either way, you don't take a 4-badge rated RD, say it is improved, then give it 3 badges. Something's up at that site, and to me, it smells bad.

The Whistler Pro-78 is, as far as I am aware, the first Whistler radar detector platform to post very consistent performance on all three Ka bands. Yet its average Ka performance is somewhat behind the average Ka performance of the Bel Vector series. Yet I do have a hankering to try out the Pro-78 with the new firmware version. In January I plan to order one direct, which has been tweaked by Michael Batten himself, and compare it to my S7 V995. I don't expect it to have quite the same raw range, but (from what I saw in the August GOL tests) I do expect it to do extremely well in over-the-hill and around-the-curve radar encounters.

Anyway, its time for a new toy and the Pro-78 is going to be it.

Its Ka performance only seems average when tested by the GOL. I do not trust their results to be objective. I have gotten 3-4 mile ranges on the Pro-78, and while it may not be as lab-sensitive as the V955, it's more reliable and has better customer service. I consider the two RDs dead even in value.

You don't even trust the GOL, they seem pretty legit.

....Although it was kinda funny how the Pro 78 scored well in one test, not far behind the belscort detectors. Then on the next one it was close to dead last and almost getting beat by a Cobra and RMR. I thought that was quite fishy.

They're too lazy to do long-range tests for weak signals, so they use that BS radar foam crap, and to me that kind of laziness means unreliable results. That and I firmly believe their pockets are being lined by Belscort and V1. Just MHO, though.

haha I have personally heard nothing bad about the higher end Whistler units. in general it's a better performance versus the similarly priced cobra's

And in all my detectors use the V1 has given me the best performance versus any other detector I have used...So it doesn't surprise me that the V1 performs the best in testing
