Default My New Hard-Mount for Pro-78

OK, so I was SOOOO tired of the RD falling in my lap when the suction cups let loose, that I decided to try a hard-mount. First attempted used rearview mirror adhesive, but because my mounting point was on the bumpy ceramic tint strip, that didn't hold. So I tried Gorilla glue. This is my end result:

This shows the original mount and the newly glued mount:

Here's just the mounts:

And this is what it looks like from the outside:

I like it MUCH better so far....stealthier, and more secure.

Awesome! Did you like put a glue to the windshield? I'm thinking about buying something that is very stable with no movement at all which I'm sure yours is like that. What is it or did you make it?

Yep, it's Gorilla Glue. That's the name. I cleaned the windshield and bracket. Put Gorilla Glue on the windshield and water on the bracket. Held the bracket on for a couple minutes, then put duct tape on it for 3 hours. THen it was ready to hold the RD. Tuesday will be the first test of the glue sitting in the sun for 8 hours thoug.

Here's what it looks like, with the RD, from the inside. VERY stable, but again, we'll see how the Gorilla Glue does after a day in the sun at work.

How are you going to take it down when you get a new car since it glued?

LOL figured you guys didn't need to see my ugly mug.

As for taking it down, I'll cross that bridge if I come to it, but this car will likely be mine for several more years.
