Whistler Pro-78 Question

This thing has already paid for itself. It very rarely gets false X alerts and surprisingly enough it has already detected actually X band readings from locals who haven't upgraded to K band.

My question is, it's not in the manual but how do you shut off the dual LED's or have them so they only go on for alerts/alarms? The manual says you can set it so they only go on for alarms/alerts but it won't configure that way.

The LED's are nice but I'd prefer they only go on while it gets a reading for an alarm. My dash is alright bright enough with a touch-screen LCD in the front so I need to dim it down.

Check out page 12 in the manual.

Your unit is currently set up to blink when the unit is alerting.

You can select to blink, never turn on, or on all the time.

I turned mine off. Why? Because I don't want ANY chance that a LEO will see flashing blue lights in my windshield and decide I'm impersonating him.

I doubt a LEO would misconstrue those small blue lights Stealth for the bigger more higher powered lights that the LEOS have. My cousin has the Whistler XTR-440 and he has the blue lights turned on and enjoys them.

That's OK. You're probably right, but mine is mounted so high I could never see the LEDs anyway. I just changed my mount setup today and will be posting pictures later, along with an encounter.
