Default Whistler Pro-78 Radar Detector Saves Me Again

So I was headed from work over to corporate Tuesday, moving west along a 6-lane (3 each side) road. Just about to crest the peak of a bridge when I got a Ka-blip. Naturally, the brakes went on even though I was only 8-9 over the PSL. Then the blip went away. It came again JUST as I saw the LEO. He was just on the other side of the bridge (behind a hill), sitting in the center median, shooting instant-on Ka. He was facing west, but I couldn't tell if he was clocking oncoming eastbound traffic or shooting those of us headed west in the butt. Either way, I was cruise controlled at the PSL when he was able to get a speed on me.

The alert distance? Between .2 and .3 miles. But considering it was over a hill, facing away from me, AND Ka/I-O, that's a DAMN good save. Because of the lanes of traffic between me and the LEO, I never would have seen him had I not been looking, and they HAVE been busting people for minor violations here. Friend of mine got a ticket for 7 over the other day.

So chalk up another save for Mike B's technology. Now I have to box it up and send it to him for updates. I will be completely unprotected for a week or two.

AAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

I currently have an early version of Rev C that Mike loaded for me before they released the current version, so I am sending it for the full Rev C version.

Hey bro!

Good to know that your trusty detector is keeping your record clean, even with that much faster new ride.

Well, right NOW it's in a box with the USPS on its way to Mr. Batten at Whistler. He has the rest of Rev. C for me and some anti-laser-falsing stuff to try out. Weee! Looking for a backup tomorrow afternoon at pawn shops around here. A buddy of mine picked up an X50 for $50 about 6 months back.

^Reason why I hate Ebay.

I'm recommending this product to a friend who needs a Mid-Range Radar Detector and thought Pro-78 would be a good product for her.
