Default Whistler Pro 78 Radar Detector Hardwired!

Just hardwired my Pro 78... took the suction cups off and used it as a visor mount! I was having trouble finding a place to mount it, and my girlfriend pointed this perfect one out! Its almost impossible for theifs or Leos to see it!

Used a Add a circuit thingy in my fuse box for the cig lighter... crimped it, grounded it and it worked great!

Interesting...can you show a close-up of how the mounting bracket fits there? I'm looking to lose the cups and that looks like a nice mount...

Not sure if you guys know but if you go to your profile page you can click on the right on "my albums" and upload any picture you like there, eliminates the use to have to use photobucket, and can just implement the pictures right into here to avoid having to go to links.

Brilliant!! I may have to try that...very nicely done, and quite stealthy.

I used to have mine mounted over the RVM, which was stealthy as well, but in the Speed6, that area has the textured ceramic bumps. They were covered with glass on the old car, but not on this one. So the suction cups don't stick.

I'll try hooking mine up like that today! Thanks.

Forgive my "newbieness" but if I have a tint strip right in front of the detector does it affect the sensitivity?

It will DEFINITELY affect laser sensitivity. Some contain a metallic compound that affects radar too.

Thanks for the reply. Not knowing if the factory tint contains any metal particles I will be better served ( from an optimum sensitivity perspective) to have it just below the tint then.
