  |  Radar detectors are completely legal to use in non-commercial vehicles. Virginia and Washington DC are the only 2 states in the United States that currently ban the use of radar detectors. There is a federal law banning use of radar detectors in any commercial vehicle over 10,000 pounds. Radar detectors are also illegal on any military base. | ||||||||

| If you're paranoid about CA and MN, just use the Visor mounts instead of the window mounts and suction cups. The Visor mount is also nice in northern states where the suction cups like to fall off of cold windows. | ||||||||

| Cali Radar detectors are legal in CA to use. The law for commercial motor vehicle drivers is very vague and very outdated, not too much to worry about unless in Texas/Virginia/D.C and especially Ontario. | ||||||||

| They are legal to use, just not legal to have mounted to your windshield, and I have been b!tched at about it when I was in Cali, never ticketed though. Visor mount or in-dash remote units like the SRX are the way to go if you're worried about it | ||||||||
