|  Yes. Yes, the phantom rcd very much so is. For all newcomers the quesiton RR.net just asked me is. Does this device Transmit a Radio wave to interrupt the guns outgoing waves. Or does it try to Reflect back the source signal with mixed jumbo (which doesn't work this is what rmr does. Although Active jamming IE. transmitting your own radio wave at the same exact frequency at a high enough Wattage/power does work very effectivly. And this is what this jammer is doing in this video to the radar gun to jam it, it's transmitting it's very own beam of radio waves to disrupt the gun and as you see it proves extremely effective. You can actually hear this happening in the doppler audio of this movie if you listen closely you will hear it become all scratchy and distored this is the Phantom RCD at work on the K-55's doppler shift. |  Legal you ask? NO! HECK NO! Active Radar jamming is considered a Federal Felony in all 50 states! The FCC concludes that transmiting a radio wave to interfere with police speed measuring devices is illegal. Active Radar Jammers Models Currently, there is only one company that markets active radar jammers, it is the Scorpion Ultimate radar jammer. A few years ago Tiger Lily Products sold an active radar jammer that jammed X and K bands only, their model was called the Phantom RCD XP. Tiger Lily is working on a new model, but it is unknown when it will be released. The punch through distance (distance away at where the police officers radar gun will begin receiving your vehicle) is as follows for the Phantom RCD XP model. Punch Through Phantom XP X-Band: 200 Feet K-Band: 200 Feet The company that actually manufactured the Phantom RCD XP was Scorpion and now has come out with their own X, K and Ka Band radar jammer. The new model is called the Scorpion "Ultimate" Ka jammer. This is a three part system, consisting of the main control module and two modules that contain the antennas for the unit. The antenna modules could either be dash mounted or mounted inside the front grill. Both of these antenna modules are quite large, and if you choose to dash mount, it would take up most, if not all your dash area. It is a federal felony to possess, operate or sell these jammers. Because of this, many do NOT offer nor recommend the Scorpion radar jammer. Also there have been numerous complaints posted on RadarDetector.net by dissatisfied customers, because of poor product support and frequent calibration problems. Getting one takes time a patience and knowing the Right people. Although you can contact scorpion at anytime and get one new. Although expect to pay big $ for it. Especially if you want ka band, due to haveing to cover each individual frequency ka band is SO expensive. Although nice to have!
