Some states it is illegal to have a radar detector, and cops do have a device that can detect if a radar detector is being used...killing it would make it undetectable when passing a cop obviously.

I knew it. But they can detect you faraway depending on Radar Detector you have but I'm sure it's useful in a moderate to heavy traffic.

If it was illegal in your state could install the radar detector where it is "stealth" and not really visible, say.... hidden next to rear view mirror....if you are only one on the road would be obvious it was you with the radar...but you could kill the radar when approaching closely and they have to figure out which car has the radar detector...reason for kill switch if you needed to kill it really quick.
