Default How fast over PSL do you go?

We all know the posted speed limit is there for a reason but I was curious how fast and in what conditions do you speed.
I usually keep it at 9-10 over on highways only but on a no traffic day in good weather I may get up to 15 over.

I rarely speed on surface streets. Too many places for LEOs to hide and because there are intersections and driveways all over the place there's too many variables to constantly account for so I keep the speed down where I can brake or manuever easily around a hazzard.

The freeways are a bit different. As fast as I can get up to until I'm slowed by another car. Unless it's raining then I run at traffic speeds up to my comfort level.

The interstate is wide open. As fast as I can see.

no more than 10 over, no real need and with the cost of fuel right now.. it's best to keep the speed down. My 7.3 litre loves to drink... and at $3.50 a gallon... I'd like to not feed it as much.

in the city limits always no more then 10 over the PSL.... if I am outside the city limits and no one is around but me and the country :} probably about 15-25 over PSL , never ever above 25 PSL

In the neigboorhoods I never speed because of little kids and in school zones I never speed.

I rarely speed for my daily commute. It's a combination of my own personal beliefs as well as the simple fact that, on local surface streets through the townships where I commute through, there's just too much enforcement.

The risk of a pull-over, of its inherently time-consuming nature (regardless of if a citation is awarded), means that the most speedy way to reach my commute/errand destinations, consistently, is to simply obey the PSL.

Thus, the chief reason why I have countermeasures is really mainly just because this is my hobby.

On the highway, it's a different story.

I typically fit the profile of the easygoing driver in the outside lane(s), who is usually no more than "below 10+" - this is particularly true when I have passengers in the car, or if I'm on a longer road-trip (again, the hassle/time-delay of a pull-over makes it just not worth it, to me, to go any faster, and start becoming "questionable" to most State Highway Patrol enforcement profiles).

Very, very rarely - I do venture above 15+.

I don't understand why you guys go over 10+ mph even when no cars are around. That sounds like you guys don't have any knowledge. In my hometown, we have some smart CO K Band Cops that turn on and off and than you have State Troopers using IO Ka shoot you then your busted. I only speed over 10+ when there is a rabbit ahead of me (maybe 50 yds away, it be safe). Since your poll said 5-9 mph and you don't need RD, you still need a RD because some cops will pull you over at 5 mph.

Correct me if I'm wrong and I like to hear your knowledge not getting pulled over. I'm only 19 and I don't have that much experience really.

Well for me....I love to speed but I try to do it responsible.... for example in school zones I dont go a mph over at all, or in neighborhoods I dont speed at all...too many kids that I could hit.... when I am out on the open highway there is usually not that much traffic at all which is why I will go alot faster out in the outskirts.... I usually dont speed past 15+ over the PSL out there unless I have bait... but the risk of speeding 15+ over the PSL is way alot less then driving in the city...I live in Houston... major city...driving in the city like that is very risky and can hurt alot of lives....where as out on the open highway....alot easier to speed safely... I guess.

I respect School Zones, Neighborhoods (not mine really). I still don't understand why you need to speed all the time even no cars around because there could be some Staties out there shooting Laser or IO Ka, it scares the crap out of me. That is why I don't speed unless If I can get some rabbit with me.

If there is absolutely no cars around I do 10 mph over at the most, usually cops that hit me with instant on doing 10 over dont bother me...its a risk... but thats why we have traffic attorneys because sometime there radars arent always right, lots of room for error.

Really? I don't know East Texas LEO reaction on speed. My dad was going 53 under 55mph at 12am on highway surrounding club areas (Drunk Driver risk) with no cars around and this ST pulled him over and clocked him at 58 and he gave him a warning. My dad was pissed off. I am guessing they're strict here. I won't speed over 1 mph when there are no cars around because possibly they will pull me over and see me that I am young.
