Default An Awful Radar Detector Experience...Made me cry..

So I am driving today and see this absolutely brand new Z06 Corvette that is yellow, with black rims. Looks brand new...this thing is jaw dropping....man can that thing GO!

So I am starring down the car...and BAM! Made me cry...

He had a COBRA radar detector mounted on the windshield...and on top of that...he had it mounted on the window and literally the horn of the radar detector was pointing straight up in the air! What was he looking for....Aliens shooting radar???! Come On!

If you are going to spend 70K+ on a car like that....come on...at least by an Escort or a Valentine One radar....and at least mount it right.... this made me SO SO sad today!

That just proves my hypothesis that money and brains are not correlated.

For that matter neither are money and driving skills.

I have some people who are that rich will not spend a RD that they think it might work or not so they just go to Wal-Mart and buy one for less time. Cobra are just really good at marketing so that's why they're getting alot of attention in Stores and Advertising.

It's all about name and branding but I understand what your saying that some people can just spend money over stupid stuff without hurting them. People don't know the understanding of technology especially Desktop Computers when they like the looks (Monitors and the Machines) but not the speed just like RD. Yes I'm throwing stuff in here that you guys probably know anyway, haha.

I just don't get it sometimes, I guess were just that genius for buying a better RD and knowing Cobra actually do suck.

Also, remember, not every car-nut is a speed-detections countermeasures nut - and vice-versa.

There's plenty in this community who drive what car-enthusiasts would consider "lesser" cars - and there's also plenty in the car-enthusiast community who either would care less about speed-detections countermeasures, or may even see them as being immoral/unethical to own/use.

It's all about different viewpoints.

Also, of course, there are those with just more money than sense, too.

I went to a book signing at a local best-selling author's house last night. Drove the Speed6 to show off to my writer friends, but when I pulled up, the first thing I saw was a NICE burgundy red 911 Turbo Convertible out front. Top was down, windows were up. The owner had left a Passport 8500 (non-X50) sitting on the dash in plain sight for anyone to steal.

As pointed out above, money doesn't always correspond to brains. In fact, many times, money results in a shutdown of the brain.

He could have had a microwave sensor installed which would have set off an alarm.

...or maybe he just stole it from someone else and forgot it on the dash

Tizzy, you are a wise friend. I'm not as anti cobra as most. If you only only need a RD to save you from the most stupid speed taps. CO K, Ka. then the Cobra seems to do the trick. For pro-speeders it's not enough. Never will be.
