Just keep in mind with that 2mi detection range you will have about 10 falses on the same band.

I would love to see a radar detector that had a network of users...meaning for example the 9500i, it would send a direct link like a tower for cell phones use (I am sure someone could rent the space on the cell towers) where members with the same radar detector that got a full reading of K or KA or Laser, it would alert all members within say a mile of each other that a radar in the area close by got hit.

Escort has already incorporated an idea for the concept to share current info with other users in the 9500I patent. Not quite what you are thinking but it could be done. It would be a small CPU that could wirelessly use the internet and connect to the USB to outher units.

Quote from Escorts 9500I patent (I won’t quote the whole thing):

"If training data is to be shared between various detectors, it will be necessary for supporting software to compensate for these variations. When new pre-trained data is supplied, the detector will undergo an authentication procedure in order to determine the relationships between the pre-train data and its own receiver configuration. This will be based on comparing the frequencies of newly encountered sources to those of the pre-train data at matching coordinates. "
"The Internet provides a convenient means for storing and accessing repositories of information. Web sites will be established and devoted to this task. They will provide several convenient types of training information. One will be a training file containing the coordinate information from the online "Speed Trap Registry" at the internet site speedtrap.com. This information would be usable to set "always warn" bits at the locales of known speed traps. A second type of training information would be training files submitted by individuals for use in particular areas, and the third type of information would be aggregate training files created by integrating individually-submitted information into single files organized by region. Aggregate training files would be managed and updated by the web site administrator."
