Looks like Canada is trying a new device to slow down speeders:

Implenting such system is costly and impractical. How hard would it be for shops to hack the chip and deactivate such system a few weeks upon its release? Not to mention that speed enforcement is currently a great revenue for the government.

yeah I can imagine how many law suits happen when they couldnt accelerate to get out of a situation!

^^ I was going to say, how will they meet their end of the month quota??? Not that they have them but the government takes in a lot of money from speeders.

I can also agree with the first poster about not being about to speed up and pass a vehicle. And what if an emergency vehicle comes blaring through and everyone is going the same speed and can't pass each other and move over?

what a load of crap

itll never happen though. as already mentioned before, there is too much money to be made from speeding tickets so governments will never adopt this system. speeding tickets are about revenue and not safety as they claim anyway
