Hey there I'm the owner of Radars for Rent.

I wanted to welcome people to ask any questions they have about our service.

Our weekly base price includes 2-day shipping both ways, insurance for coverage during shipping, and 7 full days of rental.

If you are local to our Rochester, NY location and elect for pick up, we can waive the shipping costs, for a $20 discount.

A majority of our rentals are to people who want to try out a detector before they buy it. Also, we have people rent who live in a state where it's illegal, but they want to use it on a road trip while visiting other states. We've even had one gentlemen rent while his V1 was being updated! There are numerous reasons, but our whole goal is to just give people more options!

I'll admit back in the days i didnt like having a radar detector every day to day...just when I went on trips...I would actually purchase one and then return it to Best Buy and just pay the 15% restocking fees when I returned it... renting would be another option I guess...

Now i can test a V1 without using the 30 day trial and feeling guilty.

While the pro 73 is a wonderful detector. It just beats me why the newer pro 78 isnt for rent.

During our market research we found a lot of people using Pro 73's (this was prior to the release of the 78's). Since the release of the 78's we've been working on a complete upgrade, but due to unforeseen circumstances it has taken longer than originally expected. Most people that rent decide to upgrade to the 8500 or the V1, so the upgrade to the 78's hasn't been a high priority.
