Default What kind of laser is this

I live in Houston and today I say an HPD car out in Katy with something that looked like binoculars but a little longer, they were black if that matters. I"m just curious as to what he was using.

The only Laser Gun I know of that looks like binoculars is the Prolite.

Kustom ProLite - Guys of LIDAR

Check this link out and see if this is it.

That looks like it could be it. He had it in one hand and was getting ready to start checking the cars when I passed him.

The ProLite would be my first-guess as well (particularly based on your last post above), but depending on how far away you were and how good of a view you had of the device, mliebs8, I also would not completely rule-out either the PL-III ( Kustom ProLaser III - Guys of LIDAR ) - which is very popular in your area and with your enforcers, as well as the Stalker ( Stalker LZ-1 - Guys of LIDAR ).

Due to the fact that these models offer a vertical pistol-grip or reverse-pistol-grip handgrip, enforcers sometimes like to rest the forward-of-grip portion of the device over either their window-frame or window-ledge (or even atop the car body), and use their off-hand to stabilize the device via a "sandwich grip" method (applying downward pressure to the stabilizing support underneath the LIDAR gun), and can thus emulate the "binocular" appearance, which can be easily mistaken, even by seasoned spotters, due to the various circumstances of any encounter.

Until you can, without a doubt, verify the precise equipment used, don't make any hasty assumptions, particularly if you're trying to decide which countermeasure(s) to purchase, based off of such data.
