i would not believe much of what mythbusters did really in this area. they cant tell the general public what will help them speed or they would be put off the air.

a lot of myths they tested are crap anyway. big disco ball hanging from the RVM and jingling keys.

give me a break

if they did find something i reckon they wont give away the secret anyway

not meaning to bad mouth them either, i actually like the show.

oh and yes, i do not believe photoblocker works anyway

^ Keep in mind, though, that there's been quite a few different and well-known "media" tests of such sprays.

In some instances, it's truly been found to work. And others, it's been proven to be a miserable failure.

Again, it's *highly* dependent on the camera technology and also physical circumstances at the moment of capture. In so much as it thus provides unpredictable protection, I would say that it is "incomplete protection," and therefore cannot make a recommendation for it.

What about the VF2 Photo jammer? It takes the idea of old "Flash Backs" to a new level by overexposing your plate rather than trying to blind the camera. All of the tests I have heard about have shown it to be successful even against radar cameras. For about $400 I would hope it would.

Against some of the photoflash based cameras, yes, the second-generation VF was successful.

However, it was again found to be far from perfect - against cameras which do not utilize visible-light photoflash, including video-based cameras such as the Redflex (of which we're seeing more and more of, here in the US), these units are all but useless.

Again, as with the sprays, I'd say that if they work in your area, for your particular purposes, then yes, it may be worth it for you to invest in such protection. However, given the variety of cameras that are out there, I would be very, very hesitant to count this kind of device as a true "countermeasure" when it comes to traversing the country.
