A smart cop shooting pro laser 3 this morning

I was off today so decided to take the women to work...way down in the galleria. Well when I am coming home up northbound on hwy 59 I noticed in the HOV lane (middle lane of highway blocked off by walls), their was a cop on a motorcycle shooting pro laser 3 at the vehicles approaching him... here is the thing though that I thought was pretty clever. He was shooting the cars probably 1,500-2,000 feet shots away, he was on one of the exit ramps people take to exit to get out of the HOV lane, cars were heading south towards downtown at this time of the morning, but he was shooting from a ramp at the vehicles out, then the road would curve and you couldnt see the vehicles he had been hitting...so basically he would get a reading from 1,500 feet out and target you, then when you came around the curve 1,500 feet later he would already have his lights on waiting for you to pull over. Thought it was pretty neat tactics... given it was impossible to see him where he was, and he was shooting the vehicles from a higher angle up above which can be tricky for some laser jammers.
