Tickets like that are so easy to fight in court. Just explain so kind of error that could easily add a few MPH to the reading in radar and it will have to be dismissed.

Well . . . kind of. Except in my experience your going to pay something. Every small town ticket I've fought and had dismissed was negotiated to court costs. No big deal to me since I'll pay to dodge the points but if your really trying to get away scott free it doesn't really work. Judges are not impartial in small Texas towns.

Had another scare today. Was reacing a point where a two-lane road expands to 4. Speed limit is 45, but at that point, everyone starts drifting up toward 60. This is where i got my last ticket, and STILL I started to let my speed drift up. When I realized I was probably 8 over, I slowed and looked in my mirror. Sure enough, here comes a sheriff deputy, hauling butt toward me. Fortunately, he sped past me and got behind a line of cars. I think he was after a white-and-blue Mustang. It could have been the deputy who ticketed me last -- he and I got to know each other a bit after that. So maybe I caught a break....
