Default Nice K-Band Pickup - Two Curves!

Was taking my daughter to school this morning, and had just turned left onto the road that runs past her school when I got a K-band alert. Had a very nice ramp up, and I thought for sure there'd be a LEO up there, enforcing in the school zone. Instead, there was a Your Speed trailer. I had the alert as SOON as I turned toward the signal, so about .33 miles. Two slight curves, a hill, and several buses in the way, too. So I was very happy with this detect.

I was worried about my k-band detection ranges lately because there is a construction sign at the crest of a HUGE hill. It has a K-band gun on it, and when I went up the hill, I literally didn't get an alert until the top of the sign was in view. Nowhere NEAR enough time to slow down. But the sign is just over the crest, and can't be seen from the bottom, so I had my buddy with his X50 test it. He had the same results -- only about 200 yards warning. So I drove south, then turned toward the sign at the crest of an earlier hill where I normally get no falses, and voila! K-band, 2-bars.

So my k-band detects are fine. And for those doubting Whistler's ability to do around-the-curve detects -- they work just fine. My Pro-78 isn't stock, but the improvements are mostly filter-related and have very little (if anything) to do with off-boresight sensitivity.

Not stock and the tweaks from Whistler have every thing to do with sensitivity

I notice that KITT replied, but since I have lameness on IGNORE, I'll have to guess his reply went something like, "Waaaa...your Pro-78 is modified...booo hooo....it doesn't represent actual production Pro-78 performance...waaaaaa."

But I've been getting around the curve results like this since before the 78 had even a single "tweak" from Michael B. Even when it had Rev B software.

Michael B's exact words when he returned it this time: "You may notice a slight increase in K- and Ka-band sensitivity." The rest was filtering stuff.

KITT's just a hater. Just to prove it, here are some diagrams of around-the-curve results I got before Michael tweaked a thing. Some are Rev B software, others are a very early beta version of Rev C:

Rev C Beta:

Rev C Beta (Radar was FORWARD-FACING):

Rev C Beta (this is a 3.5 - 3.9 mile detect..WITH a curve!):

Rev B:

Rev C Beta (TWO CURVES!):

None of those have any "tweaks" whatsoever. Stock Pro-78 with either Rev B or Rev C2 beta software.

Once again, it's not an X50/STi/V1 by any means, but around a curve, it's just fine.

This was one of my favorites. Rev C Current, with "tweaks:"

Almost identical to one above. Little performance gain with the tweaks.
