Default I-25 Colorado

I spent the week in Colorado. Rented a gray Dodge Charger and stuck the V1 in the window the whole week. I made numerous runs from Denver to Colorado Springs and encountered the CSP a grand total of two (2) times. Both times they were in the center median with no radar running. Of course it wouldn't of mattered if they had since the surplus of brake lights tipped me off long before I ever reached them so I was easily at the PSL.

When I was outside Denver I got very few alerts. Compared to metro-Houston it was practically silent. For residents of rural-Colorado I can see why the V1 would be a great detector.

On a side note. Driving a charger has a funny effect on other drivers. When you steam up on them they almost always hit they're brakes and move over.

can't imagine why?

Yeah, Chargers get attention here. CSPD is actually transitioning from Crown Vics and Impalas to Chargers, or so it seems.

And be careful the next time you're here. GOvernor Ritter just raised the fines for traffic violations. Stated openly that it was to increase revenue for the state. Most fines AT LEAST doubled. The $87 ticket I got back in April is now $177. Speeding in a construction zone can now cost you $600+.

Thanks Stealth. My friend told me about the construction fines. But since we have double fines in construction zones in Texas too I was already trained.

It's getting close to Virginia-style madness, though. Especially when they couch it as raising revenue, and nothing to do with safety.
