I have been in contact with the manufacturer to get all the members on here a special group buy price once this is completed for those interested, he is still working on the final product, my guess we probably will not see the group buy from about 2 months from now..... but, its a glass that goes over your license plate that uses liquid crystal to tint the glass when power is applied, this also can work underwater...so on rainy days you wouldn't risk anything being shorted out.

DAMN that is cool!

Maybe in a few paychecks I would be interested, but I just had to pay rent early along with an $100 fine for supposedly being late...

ouch...the material on this is expensive...he will be selling these units in the mid 300 dollar range...so a little pricey...

I am trying to get him to 300 even if we do a group buy to help lower the price a little.

Nice! I could go $300 for one of these. Definitely.

Red light cameras, toll roads... , someone try to catch up with you to get your plate on camera when being chased... cough cough

This will be used for offroad purposes though...anything you do with it on public roads is your choice, but we will be selling this for offroad use only.

RR.net - You've been in direct contact with this item's maker, correct?

Are you willing to vouch for him/her/them?

I'm willing to join the GB, but your personal-honor reassurance would be something that I seek, mainly as any time that myself as well as many other members of our community have tried to contact such makers, they've all turned out to be vaporware.....

I'd be willing to join the GB, with your vouching for this maker, as well as the stipulation that we either hold the complete money amount in-escrow, or run the transaction in a deposit-only manner, to guaranty physical product delivery.

Please don't take my post here the wrong way - I've always been eager to come upon these devices - but I am just leery of the issue above.

Also, one technical question:

Will the final product be of GLASS ? or of some more durable material, such as plexi? or polycarb?

I will get back to you on the technical question as I cant answer that question as of now but I am willing to vouch all the money raised for this product until all product is received.

I will get back with you on the product as far as the outer cover, it is using the liquid crystal technology and this is from a reputable business.

^ That's good enough for me.

Technical info. would be most certainly appreciated - but in terms of vouching, your word is good.
