Default Vascar in Virginia

Well in this topic you will see Airborn VASCAR in action. This method IMHO BY FAR is the most DEADLIEST for us speeders. Your detector and laser jammer are USELESS when put up against VASCAR. What is so deadly about this techinique is the they get you from the air and they can get multiple cars at one time. Forget going with the flow because ALL of you will get a ticket.

They are using the white lines to track how quickly your car goes from one to another...which gives them your speed. They usually have a cop up the road that will pull you over when the plane detects that you were speeding, and they can pull multiple cars over at one time.

NC and North Fla use VASCAR as well regulary.

Not employed so much at night as it's harder to identify (positively) the vehicle. More chance of gettin nab'd by VASCAR method during daylight hours.

Wow, that sucks for those of you have Vascar in your state. I am glad we don't have any here in East Texas. Now those Pilots really make accurate measure of your speed? ACCURATE?

Its not very accurate, they have to clock you between the intervals. Vascar is usually very easy to fight since its considered highly inaccurate due to discrepancies in the ability of the officer to hit the stopwatch correctly.

IMO, if you pay attention to the markings on the road, VASCAR is easier to deal with since it is VERY predictable (They use the same spots all the time) and also, if you notice that you're going into a trap too fast, you just need to slam the brakes to slow down enough to make your speed average out as legal.

In PA, Locals have to permit you at least 10MPH over the limit on their Vascar readings to take into account the error. Usually if a VASCAR ticket is written for under 10mph, alot of times the department won't even bother to send an officer in court since its too easy to fight it.

Vascar can be a tad bit fun at times. In PA, there's a little game some like to play where you purposely come into a VASCAR trap hot, then SLAM the brakes and crawl at walking pace over the second line. Cop's reading comes out as legal. They know you were speeding, but cannot do anything since your speed averaged out as being within the legal limits. .

I disagree to a point though with the same spots... cause if I'm passing thru an area (say from NC to Fla) and they're running Vascar in Valdosta Georgia near I-10... I might not know the common spots as a traveler...

I do make annual/semi-annual runs to the Panhandle (Fla) from NC every year and seem's like that one stretch of I-10 West from the I-75/I-10 exchange have an awfull lot of white lines all the way past Jacksonville!!! ha ha ha ha hah a..... if I cant get a heads up from truckers in the opposite lanes... I'd have to assume each set of lines I come across is suspect. Local knowledge for the passerby can be tough to obtain..

I watch for the white lines in unfamiliar areas. Generally if there is a seemingly random white line scretching across the road, its probably part of the VASCAR system.

You'll probably see the second line not too far after.

Is VASCAR the same as pacing (a VASCAR car unit that is)?
