Default Diff model #s, same units??

Ok, heres the question. Think there really is a difference in the units made by a company? I have 2 Whistlers, different models, both weigh the same and are similiar shaped. Both have the exact same reaction times, actuations, sensitivities, etc, just "look" different ( and one uses batteries). Im thinking the heterodyney thingamadoodles that pick up the bands/laser are probably all the same trade-wise... Hmmm? Just charge more money for the interfaces? I know most people want performance without paying for all the other, as I do, but wouldnt buy a "low end" because they think it wont work. Theres about $60 difference between mine but the work identically...Coincidence?

This is how most different models within a company work. like the x50, 9500 and some Bels, they all use an M4 horn so performance should be the same.

Most companies are lazy and aren't going to have totally different models. They will have a base unit than just add features.

With Whistler, it's mostly a difference in features and displays that sets them apart.

For example, the Pro-78 and XTR-690 are about the same RD, but one has an LCD display with a compass while the other has an LED display and no compass.
