Cobra XRS-9600 Radar Detector Review

rating: 4/5 by: Epinions Author itsmpm - i've had my xrs-9600 for a couple of years now and it has done fine. it's as good as any of the older high-end devices that i've had in the past from escort, whistler and bel.

there are the occasional false alarm but it has definitely saved me on many occasions. the compass works great and the display is very sophisticated looking. intellimute is my favorite feature -- you set a low rpm point (idle or close to it) where the detector will not sound when you are going slow or stopped.

it's a little bit bigger than previous units but not too bad. it has a nice exterior and the button are fine.

overall, i give it good marks. false alarm levels are acceptable, volume is good, k and ka sensitivity is great...i would recommend it or the newer generation versions from cobra.
