A 24yo officer responding to a man with a gun/weapon call raced to the scene...a little to fast. She exceeded speeds of 90mph+ in 35 mph zones, and runs red light after run light. and eventually T bones a Jeep at 50mph. The officer is on paid administrative leave.

You're right the sun is at the top right hand corner of the windshield and the sun rays scatter across the windshield. Still though, no excuse to run a red like that.

Officers here always come to a near-complete-stop before entering an intersection with on a red light, with lights and siren on. Safety should be top priority even when responding to an accident scene.

I would hope that all emergency vehicles everywhere come to a complete stop because not every driver has there music off, AC off, and windows down expecting emergency personnel to come blaring up to an intersection.
