![]() | I know what the problem is with is heads because the 1st Gen heads of the Laser Star were based (copied) on the LPP. We were experiencing the famous "3 beep problem" and we did alot of time investigating and found the problem. We fixed the problem and we never had the 3 beep problem again with the changes we made because we found the problem and fixed it. I can tell you its not the "water issues people speak of " and that is just a made up excuse by the lpp reps and Go.mouse so they could get out of replacing heads. carter840's post from RD.net Things are falling apart! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So I have not been spending much time on board recently and there are a few reasons for that. One is that I have been busy with my summer job. Two is that I already have learned most of the RDnet info over the years. But the last and probably most annoying is that my system seems to be falling apart. In particular my Laser Jammer setup is very lacking and I honestly feel stupid spending anymore money on this stuff. I've got some old (2 years) LPP heads on my car that give random three beep alerts. I know from the past that this means a ad head and usually a water leak issue. I previously returned my first set almost 3.5 years ago for this very same reason. Also my LPP control box died a few months back and even though I bought from the UK and was out of warrenty the US rep was nice enough to give me a new (TS enabled) control box. So the jammers work now-> well not really. They have random 3 beep alerts, when they jam they do not stop jamming until they are off, and they are driving me nuts. I really don't know what to do. I would just go out and buy dual LI Heads, but not only is that really expensive but it is also a full day (which I do not have right now) to install them and remove the old LPPs. It also means that I will need to find a new grill since the old one was cut to fit them specially. I also have the switches mounted inside in the center console so I will need to get a new panel for that area two. I would guess that said and done it will be $750 (best pricing I can do for everything) and at least 12 hours of time. I have to wonder is it really worth it? I guess I really want that uninhibbited feeling while driving, but I feel like I have that already. Also the latest NE test didn't show the performance of the LI that I have come to expect and wonder if I'm not better of shelling out a few hundred for new LPP heads. I don't really know anymore, I just don't trust any jammer anymore. What are peoples thoughts? Has anyone ever fixed the 3 beep problem? Also it should be noted that I sealed the units with extra silicone when I got them, but still no avail. ![]() | Thanks...as far as it goes for the lpp Gen. ver's. its really about the control box software ver. The heads never mattered when they made a software change which was not often at all. | ||||||||
