Default Good LPP out of Laser Star

I bought a LPP off Kris and Andy Thompson of kmph fame a year or so back.

Since then it has stopped working and appears that the control unit has gone down as a friend who has the same unit connected my head unit to a spare jack on his and that seemed to work (beeped when hand put near head).

I have been sent a flyer from Roadnet for a super chaepo Laser Star and while these units seem inferior copies I was wondering if it's worth buying one for the control box alone?

What part of the Laser Star is poor, is it the head unit or the software in the box or the box componentary?

Can I make my LPP good again as wading through the internet's heat on these and other units the LPP seems to get favourable reviews

BTW I tried contacting Andy Thompson and all attempts failed. Once I spoke to his wife (?) and she said a message would be passed on... the guys seemed very nice when they came out and fitted my units

Hmmmmm...this is very *suspect*.

Well if this is a legit question and if you are legit let me say this, I helped maked laser star into a working jammer from the ground up and it did find for what we thought was a final product for awhile til the jammer heads and control boxes started failing due to Neil Brown cutting cornerings and sending us junk. We had 70-80% failure rate for the laser stars.

The weakest point from my experience from the get go is the jammer heads because there is no sense of quality control and the control boxes seemed to have voltage issues and would blow fuses or just be dead on arrival.

These are some of the reasons I dont sell laser star anymore...run away from laser star because it can not be trusted.

Its funny that the poster of this post disappeared and didnt even reply to my post to this *Suspect* poster.

I have a feeling that is was Chris (JTW) or someone from LS like Neil Brown.

Wooah! You're too fast Audi Q. I'm not in front of my PC continually.

I am just a guy who had a couple of units fitted by kmph (UK), of which one has failed and I want to get it working again.

Really, since getting one of these units and looking around the 'net there is one hell of a lot of mud slinging, so much so it's seems impossible what to believe.

Cris & Andy T came out to my place and fitted the unit. We then went and tested it on a quiet road. One of them drove my car while I held the gun for one of the test runs. It was a fun few hours and they really seemed down to earth guys.

Like I said i have tried contacting them quite a few times.

The whole laser jammer thing in the UK seems to have gone very quiet, except for this Roadnet/snooper/laser star stuff

I would stay away from from "Roadnet/snooper/laser star" laser jammer products and they are giving it away for dirt cheap because of very poor sales and it just sucks due too poor build quality and it does not jam the TruSpeed.

Thanks for the reply.

So, you wouldn't even say it's worth getting a LS for the control box alone, to make my 'good' head unit work? You must know these units inside out.

I suppose it's the dirt cheap price which is the hook. A new unit is £300 - 10x the price...

Although I think your reply leads towards binning and starting again. At least I could use my good head and make a double header?

I tried calling probably a dozen times.

I did get an answer off a lady I presumed to his wife as I was calling Andy T's home!

I emailed to a return adress he had been emailing me on a few times

Yes, I tried all ways

So I guess I'm at the choosing a laser jammer stage again. Which one would you recommend - a LPP?
