Default Lpp Pricing Concern.....you Want What??

I have been shopping for a new jammer. I had my heart set on the LI, but after reading Alpine's problems I thought it was time to keep looking. As I said my brother has a LPP and has had an ok time with it. When I say ok, I mean he has jammed the cop each time without fail. However, when he has trouble they gave him trouble. It appears customer service is again not a priority.

Anyway enough rambling. The LPP rep pm'd me and told me he would do me a favor of selling me a 2 head LPP for $799!!!!! I was like are you fuking nuts?

Sorry LPP but my ass would be bleeding. Jesus man, that's crazy. Why do i say this?

Well first I owned and AL7, I know it's not "the same" sure looks it. The heads were not very well made. Hell they were all scracted up after install. And my installer routinely does $10,000 systems.

The system broke before it even got tested. Did anyone offer me assistance? No

There is no way that the parts for an LPP cost $200 and you want me to pay $800?

If you had years of service and good cs behind you maybe i would think about it...MAYBE.....

I know Horn can elaborate on this. He has a problem with the main box and was basically told "tuff shit" by the USA rep from what I remember.

Too rich for my blood.

Can i make a sugesstion? You know if you want to make customers happy, give them a fair deal on a product....you will make a profit through mass sales.....Just my opinoin.

Laser interceptor looks like you will be getting my order........

Ya know Dave i'm with you..Frigg that.I think the problem is that here and RD.Net,these businesses know that alot of us are enthusiast and are feeding off of that to come up with these crazy outrageous prices figuring hey these folks wanna be able to not get tagged period so lets overprice our product and see who bites.I mean really how much does it really cost to produce a product like this. The startup cost may be the only costly thing. After that it's cake. They aren't filing for any special fcc id or anything like that.Just patents. As long as folks want this stupid JTG scenario then these units will always be ridiculously priced.I'll stick with my nice LED based system and call it good. There is no reason for JTG performance if people would just drive more respectable. You watch,if leos' continue to run into problems of not being able to acquire a reading from vehicles, soon you'll start to see me obstruction tickets, vehicle inspections wondering why they couldn't get a reading, and the biggest one of them all,new laser defense laws.Forget these ridiculous prices i'll keep my money in my pocket.I know Belscort isn't high on everyones list, but atleast you get a full system for your money.

I agree with you Blake! Nicely put. I forgot to mention the RDD costs, but being that LPP use to be part of AL that's already done. Now it's pure profit. From what I saw, I wasn't impressed with the build quality at all.

You bring up good points about blinder/escort. That's where I am at right now. I am hoping escort will come out with a system, true it may not JTG but at least I know I can get service and don't feel like I need a box of tampons after I make the purchase.

Their new product should come out around may i think.I purchased an RX75 and i'll be installing that soon. For me,since i only do 5 to 7 over on the highway,an led system works for me.I basically purchased it just to make sure i didn't miss a laser hit.I didn't want to solely trust my RX65 for laser. If their new system when it comes out appeals to me,then when i return from my Iraq tour i'll have no problems investing in it.We all work toooo hard for our money to just give it away bro.If you don't need a diode based system based on your driving habits then why spend the money.

My concern is that all ISP uses is overpass shots anymore. I don't think an LED system will cut it.....

Well Dave we both know their price is set.Unless they have some kind of "sale" i don't forsee the price changing one bit.Diode systems are the hot item right now.If we as consumers didn't focus soo much on it then i guess the prices would be lower. But since folks are looking for damn near invisibility then the rest of us are screwed.

I guess you are right blake. I honestly can't justify spending that much money on a jammer that doesn't have a major company behind it. I am by no means a belscort fan but could justify it then....but only if it was for a quad system....

........

Not totally true Dave.

1) I had no communication with USA LPP rep
2) The lousy CS came right from Head Office in the UK. My inquiries were IGNORED, my requests for assistance were IGNORED.
3) When I "turned up the heat" on the LPP forum the thread was deleted by that POS Kris Shortland, and he then lied to me to get me to STFU.
4) The LPP "Bum Boys" then ganged up on me on the LPP forum to have me STFU.
5) The Canadian Distributor stepped up to the plate and provided me a new control box with the 100 pps fix.
6) The rep in Canada is a straight up honest guy.
