Exclamation From the engineer of Laser Mask, update on diode head

Here is an email straight from the engineer at Laser Mask on the update of the diode version head that they soon will be releasing:

1. The head has one laser diode and 7 LED diodes.
2. The laser diode is the same one used for the Anti laser jammer with
changes made in the circuitry to make it more stable. 70 watt output.
3. The reason for using two types of diodes is due to that different laser
guns respond better to jamming with different diodes. So this is a marriage
of both into one head.
4. You can mix heads, LED and laser with the same control unit.
Regarding the LIDAR testing. The engineer said they must of used a older
jammer for this test. The Traffipatrol results are not right for this. The
LCM series has had software modified for this, it needs to be upgraded. This
gun is used in Hungary/Taiwan and the XR was jammed perfectly.

The heads will be available later this week at Laser Mask USA along with pricing.

Additionally, jimbonzzz just posted that this item, for which they've got the receipt with date-of-purchase, came from an "authorized retailer."

I am not here to dispute anyone but I was told that the LaserMask used was bought from Buyradardetectors.com. According to LaserMask USA they are not a authorized dealer and have never heard of them. If Staton has reciept we can verify the software and version because all receipts from authorized sellers will have the serial number on it and we can use that to verify the software. Again this is not a attempt to dispute the GoL tests because there results are just that. There results..It would be nice to find out how old the products software is on the unit they used just for fun..Thanks

^ Agreed. Not intended to bring up disputes - just wanted to verify what was used, for the sake of *all* concerned.

Let's see what the details are, via RD.net. I'm not sure I'll visit again, tonight, but if you do, please see the cited thread above, and see if this can't be cleared up between the parties involved.

That way, I can also stop being the messenger!

If they have the receipt, the date of when it was bought and the serial number will be on it.

With the serial number it would be easy to know if this was up to date or not.

Guys, I've again cross-posted your replies here to the RD.net discussion thread:

Some Thoughts About GOL 2008 LIDAR Test - Radar Detector Jammer Forum

mhardy, I know you've been over there already, since the time that my previous request was posted, but I have not seen any input regarding this issue on that thread.

Because of the interest in the LaserMask as a truly affordable, yet well-performing, jamming unit - which is in part a response generated by how well the jammer did at the latest GOL - I think that the community deserves to see this issue sorted out.

Please contribute, directly, your (and yours, too, RR.net) inputs to that thread, so that this issue can be settled.

Again, I'm not here to start any disputes - I really do think that the LaserMask fills its niche quite well, and am glad that a good product
(along with a retailer whom we know of as an enthusiast in the community) has come along to do so. And although the XR issue does not have much pertinence in the stateside community, I still think it's worth knowing whether or not "the latest and greatest" was what was tested.

I have since posted at RD.net....I can not verify if it was the latest software without a serial number. Even if it wasnt new software it still did excellent for the price the unit costs. Also if it was a older unit and there have been updates it would mean that it will now perform better..I can not honestly say what version they tested as they will not tell the serial # to verify. I have spoke to the engineers at LaserMask and they adv the numbers didnt look like the new software but can not verify without serial number.
