Default Questions about the LPP??

I have seen alot of reports of the lpp having this 3 beep happen and then it does not work again. I heard another person on RD.net is having this same problem. Its amazing that whenever a problem arrises its also called *Water damage* and its left at that. For as long as these and other jammers have been around I would think *Water Issues* would not be a *Issue*. I know 2 people who had the lpp and they were 3 beeping all the time and they never got any help.

If they never got any help, it's because they didn't pursue it with the LPP's retailers/resellers here, stateside/Canada - either they didn't buy it from these sources, or that they were out-of-warranty. It's just as simple as that. Both of the North American resale sources are highly trusted in their respective communities, and both will honor any such claim. The Canadian reseller, KMPH-Canada, due to its longer presence in the community, has repeatedly demonstrated this ability, and has received many kudos from its members for doing so.

Similarly, KMPH-UK/LPP-UK has taken care of its UK buyers in a similar manner.

And to-clarify: such an error is not a certain sign of "water ingress."

The LPP will also send out such a signal if the unit receives insufficient or fluctuating voltage - either due to installer error or to later-arising issues with the install/vehicle, neither of which can be blamed on the LPP unit itself. KMPH-UK/LPP-UK was instrumental in both tracing this root cause, as well as in extensively servicing an UK member's vehicle for this fitment concern.

Weatherproofing/water-ingress, based on current head design and manufacture - regardless of the jammer - will likely remain a problem. There were long-running threads on the RD.net Forums which discussed this issue from engineering standpoints, and many countermeasures hobbyists as well as automotive-enthusiasts and professional materials and electrical engineers provided their own input as to why the current construction standards and adhesives/sealants used will always render this issue a concern.

Even the trusted Escort ZR3 heads were not - and still are not - immune to this problem.

The LaserStar as well as PASS are an evolutionary design. Currently, it can only be said that initial weatherproofing is better.

However, it remains to be seen whether if these units will continue to hold, as neither has either the miles-on-road nor the time-on-road that the AL G8, LPP, ZR3, Blinder, LE30, or even the LI has seen.

In the first place, I dont want this to turn into a pissing match because this thought started with a conversation with John (LJT.com). He mentioned to me that his LPP that he about it 6 months and it starting giving him problems and he did buy it from Alex. John started having problems with it 3 beeping and the parking sensor never worked but Alex (Canada lpp rep) said that was not a issue and help was never given. John said this was way before he was testing the laser star system. I matter of fact have a buddy down in Cali that has a lpp and he told me that his lpp is 3 beeping and he has had it less then a year and it turn's off by itself. My buddy tried to contact Alex from whom he bought it from but Alex will not return his calls at all. I think my buddy will bite the bullet and rip his lpp out since he is getting pissed off and just get the LS. IMHO, I feel or get the feeling that this a case of the sales forgetting about the customer after the sale.

And for the *Install* excuse....my buddy is a master car installer and that would not be a issue in that case. Is it possible it is just having issues and the seller is refusing to help out?

I'm sorry Eire....I didnt realize lpp or any jammer had a free pass. I just brought up a question for discussion because there are issues with the lpp and people are getting and had the same problems....

Eire...I drive a bmw 330xi and I dont mess around with crap that does not work, I dont know what your problem is so the only troll I see is you.

I have had a Blinder on my '97 M3 but it was a complete pile of crap and did not work like advertised and the sales person lied to me...It did not jam the prolaser III and I got a ticket. I then bought the Escort ZR3 but also got tickets (thank god I have a great lawyer) but I wanted something so I would not have to pay my lawyer and keep the money in the bank making money for me. The ZR3 started having problems and the stereo shop blamed the problem on the install but the funny thing it was installed at their shop. To finish off this post, I later found out about the laser star and was amazed and bought it. It has worked great so far and has saved me several times. Laser Star has a awsome rep. and is very helpful even after the sale to me and people that I have referred to him.

Erie if you dont like what I post or ask just dont open your mouth because your opinion is just that....

I have not been negative to any product and I plan on keeping that way.

LPP is known for its excellent customer service and the heads have a warranty, always buy from an authorized dealer and you will be covered, a warranty is a warranty. End of story.

I agree...is not Alex aka..GoMouse the Canadian lpp dealer? These lpp's were bought from him. Maybe Alex has no stock to sell or replace bad units so he is not able to provide the proper CS. Maybe back in the past the lpp was the top dog but since there is the LI and LS they taking away from those sales he and other lpp dealers would normally count on and would sit and wait while drinking a latte and not having to pursue orders but looks like times have changed. That is how companies go out of business.....

He's a good guy and an asset to LPP IMO.

a few of the members have dealt with him in the past and have only good experiences

No problem with you but it's classic goon tactics (Look at all the LI bashing John Audi on multiple car boards across the net)

Your kidding right? Awesome rep, froms the guys who peddled the Laser Mimic & Laser Deceptor (Now thats irony), don't kid yourself that there independent consumer for one minute, granted the thing might work, but i myself wouldn't buy one purely due to the spamming tactics of Larry & Moe even if the next jammer was $500 dearer!!The man (being generous on that front) behind the clone is a shady little worm, go back to 2006 and read a couple of posts on user: drivesmart on rd.net even when he came on here he still managed to convince us he's still a horrrible creature

time will show the credibility of a company as well....LPP has been around for awhile..... Laser Star has been around for.... less then 6 months? With time shows a companys history and stability...and yes...Laser Star started off very badily with a bad image due to their spamming techniques we have seen on this site along with rd.net and about 10 other car websites.
