oh it is very good on the laser guns used here . has saved my a$$ twice now. one frontal shot and a rear one last month. i have a separate dual head system on each end of my car so i can easily tell where im being hit from

as far as a detector goes, get a V1. you can get one off ebay for a lot cheaper than you could buy a crappy thing from the crowd up north and it works much better. its deadly on laser. i have yet to have it miss a hit

if you know a mechanic or someone that can fit it for you. its pretty easy enough to do it anyway. i fitted mine myself. just be careful what you use as a power supply though. the cigarette lighter is the best option if you can get at it and hook it up to the wires going into the back of it.

i originally used a spare power lead that i found on the back of a switch blank to power my first one and it caused it to false like crazy due to some interference on that line. nothing since though, thankfully.

KMPH.co.uk is the place to go. their customer support is fantastic.

X2 to What Corkguykev said. I myself have an LTI Marksman (As does corkguykev WHich is the Same Gun as GATSO vans & Garda use) & it owns it.

tbh at the moment all you need to stay above the radar so to speak is an LPP. we've only a handful of GATSO cameras and everyone knows where they are so don't worry about a detector. The V1 is the detector to get its a little dearere but is worth it in the long run. I'd consider gettign at the very least single head front and rear as i have a rear save as does corkguykev!!!!SNEAKY!!!

Where are you based in Ireland?? The LPP has been owning Irish gardai now for 2 years BTW KMPH have been a pleasure to deal with, you can't go wrong
BTW i've no points on my licence to date

I have delt with Alex and LPP for the last two years, and Alex has always been quick to answer my emails and concerns. I did have a problem with one of my heads, and I recieved a new head without any problems.

OK maybe i can answer some questions here
i did some reading at the beginning of this forum post and it looks like it turned into a pissing contest.
lets clarify a few thing as far as LPP is concerned.
1 USA buyers from Alex as far as i understand it he does not have to warranty a thing because he sold outside his territory
2 I and a few others including DMI sport is LPP USA resellers. I along with DMI can take care of technical and warranty issues if the units were bought in the USA so in other words if you bought it from DMI or the LPP rep or whoever in the USA and you are a USA resident you can contact even me for warranty returns or technical issues. you can email anyone of us.
Like wise i cannot sell outside of the USA and if you bout from the UK or Canada you have no warranty with any of the USA resellers.

3 as a LPP installer among the others i sell yes i have run ionto the 3 beep problem.

3 beeps = unknown gun or possibly voltage issue.

2 problems i have seen regarding the LPP and the 3 beeps are laser cruise control systems on infinity Lexus and Toyota.
I have a rear head on my car and just sitting at a stop light my lpp was beeping 3 times (not parking sensor beep) looked behind me and a Toyota Avalon was behind me i followed the car and sure enough it had a laser cruise control in the front bumper apperantly it always transmits.

here is a picture of a avalon the passenger grill there is the laser can you see it?
also the tundras have lasers more and more cars on the road have lasers in them now and will drive the LPP crazy.

cause number 2 electro magnetic interference.

EMPs (electro magnetic pulses) from various sensors, cooling fan motors, fuel injectors ect.

I had a customers car the LPP would go into a full alarm randomly we replaced everything head and juntion box 2 times and it still had this problem. what we found out the full alarm would happen when the radiator cooling fan would kick on.
i watched the voltage coming from the wires in the head with a osilloscope guess what the EMP voltage was enough to pluse to the wires in the line coming from the head to the control box and trigger the alarm the HZ would vary 105 to 100 translated 100 pps and it thought it was getting hit with a Ultralyte.

remedy

wire shielding shield the wire and ground it. looks like this. shield the wires from the head to the JB

This has taken care of ever false alarm and beep error i have run into unless its coming from a cruise system which is out of your control best suggestion
when you hear the 3 beeps look around for cars that have the laser cruise systems. tundra avalon privia van lexus various models here is a list of other cars with it as well.

Quick comment on 3 beep issue with LPP.

1. If it happens once and that's it (per incident), it's alerting you to an "unknown device." This is virtually always a laser cruise control from another vehicle (as mentioned by IRCMUSA above). In this mode, the LPP will beep 3 times and then go quiet. It is NOT a constant beeping. If it detects the same cruise control again, it will not beep (unless you've restarted the unit, e.g. turn off your car, restart, etc.).

2. If you hear the 3 beep sequence continuously, the system is indicating that a head has become disconnected from the junction box. The 3 beeps are slightly different in their sound, but it can be a bit confusing. The key is that if the beeps keep happening, you need to have your installer look at the unit.

3. Both issues are probably worth posting a FAQ on somewhere, as we receive this question from time to time.
