I know...... the laser star head is placed center mass on the bottom center of the plate.

Although "landscape" orientation is preferred due to the setup of the receiving diode on most jammers, it is not necessarily required.

There have been videos of the LPP - and thus, one would assume, "similar" jammers to its physical construct, such as the LaserStar, Cheetah PASS, and AL G8 - embedded "vertically" in the bar/kidney upper main grill of a late-model BMW, and functioning quite well.

The lower grill, however, should not be "too low."

The "under-the-plate" mounting format of the OP is a bit lower, and becomes somewhat questionable during more extreme physical dips in the roadway and/or extreme-close-range overpass shots (remember the infamous Noory? his original, single-head, LPP setup was mounted as-such, due to concealment needs for his local area, and was defeated by an extreme-close-range overpass shot with a LA3 due to incident angle).

However, the OP's setup also differs from the above in that the head is flush with the front plate, which should "recover" some of that extreme-angle utility/protective capability.

The laser star rep along with the guys did the testing mentioned it but since I just ordered the 2 head system, we did some testing with a single head upfront with several of there laser guns and the laser star performed very well. If I was going with both heads upfront I could have put them vertically but I wanted rear protection and I'm glad I did that because I have been saved 3 times since I was targeted from the rear from overpass laser traps.

^ If rear scenarios are such a threat in your area, I would sincerely recommend getting that second rear head on your vehicle ASAP, and "finalizing" things back there.

The difficulties of rear jamming scenarios, both from a standpoint of vehicle profile and hardpoints as well as from the encounter setup are both extremely unfavorable....it's one aspect of the vehicle that I would definitely "overkill" on, ASAP.

Yeah its a Laser Star and what is your point? I see you dont even have a laser jammer and your talking trash. I've had Blinders and Escort ZR3's and they did not offer the protection that they said it did. My laser star has saved me 9 times and you have no idea what your talking about. I was totally impressed by the testing group and the laser star rep. from the beginning and I wished I had met these guys before buying my past jammers.

OvenCleaner...you talking about laser jammers is like you trying to talk to me about how bmw's suck and you just drive a honda civic dx...You dont have any room to talk.

I have to say this bashing is getting quite depressing, I come here to share my basic knowledge and experience with you all and hope to get good advice on things, not have to read unfounded attacks on people. Yah I have a laserstar... It works great for me. It was cheaper than the PASS and the AL and so far for me my customer service from the rep has been great, everything from testing to making sure I was happy with it.

So whatever issues you guys have had in the past with the laserstar or their people, I feel is not an issue, the product works... customer service is great... thats really all I care about.

Stop the madness everyone!

Yah some jammers have their weaknesses, but they also have their strengths and if it works for you.. thats great... If I had seen this when I was a newbie (I still sortof am) I most definitely would not have joined up or bothered to come back here.

Read this before the rest:

If I am wrong, you have every right to have your reaction and I sincerely appologize

Otherwise......

EXPLAIN THIS:

The backers of LS bash LI to hell, when it has been independently tested by MANY members of the community (Retail version) and works fine... JTG every time. Yeah, it has shitty service, but WHY should I trust LaserJammerTests when they BLATENTLY LIE about the performance of the LI? Also, calling LPP obslete because it does not jam a gun only used in europe (TraffiPatrol XR)? That is BS! They also say that the Laser Mimmic rocks, when it was tested by Happy@$$ and showed to not work AT ALL, infact it increased his PT's!

You are backing a product that is more sketchy than a crack deal in a back alley... How do you expect me to trust you?

You know you are going to get banned when someone proves LS does not work.... it is the work of Neil Brown and his goons... Nothing personal....

Critisize me and my car all you want. I drive a Civic. What is your point? I could critisize your bimmer too, but I am sure it fits your driving needs.... I like my car. It gets 40 MPG. I doubt your bimmer gets half that. But thats ok, because its faster. On the other hand, LS gives you a false sense of security because it more than likely DOES NOT WORK, and is UNPROVEN!

I will NOT respect anyone advocating LS until it is PROVEN (not by Chris, Neal Brown, or his goons. GOL works, so does any high poster on RD.net).

AND HOW SHADY IS SPAMMING ON EVERY CAR BOARD IN EXISTANCE ABOUT LS?

/rant

By the way, a 4 head laser star is more than a 4 head PASS

For 2 heads they are the same price, and I am sure Cheetah has better service than Neil browns goons...

And I have NO room to talk?

I have shot a PL3 and LTI LRB against 2 different jammers... Looked at almost all independent testing. I think I know what I am talking about.

Sorry to crash your party

Lets just please take the drama elsewhere, it is getting really old.

There is sooo much bashing on both sides, and it really needs to stop.....lets get some independent testing done, and then we can bash (legitimately) to our hearts content!
