Also, you can hear the tone when the LPP resets itself.
Indeed, Audi is now using this video as advertisement for the LaserStar - quoting from that thread link that Suf cited above:

Quote:
This is my buddies Audi A8L with a 4 head (2 front and 2 rear) Laser Star laser jammer *OWNING* a Washington State Patrol at 3AM....We just finished installing the Laser Star on his Audi earlier that day.

Highlight added for-emphasis.

That's really, really sad.

demon, I wouldn't say, definitively, that was the sound of the LPP booting up, after Ronin's reset. For all we know, the LS could sound identical.

However, given the following, I think that those of you who are familiar with the ZR3 and LPP combo can say that, indeed, both the alert tones as well as the reset tones are more than sufficient evidence to say that yes, there's a ZR3 onboard.

By the timeline (see below), this evidence - that of the ZR3's unmistakable alert as well as reset tones - would negate the claimed presence of the LaserStar onboard Ronin's vehicle.

I clearly remember discussing Ronin's jam with him (Ronin), and he cited that it was with his ZR3/LPP combination.

KMPH.ca Forum :: Radar Detectors and Laser Pro Park Review & Discussion • View topic - My First Real Laser Jam *VIDEO*

^ You'll see that both in this very thread as well as in those referenced above, I constantly refer back to the fact that I share the same setup as Ronin ---> ZR3/LPP.

My First Laser jam... on *video* - Radar Detector Jammer Forum (posted on 4/23/08, with no edits to original post)

^ In which Ronin cited, himself, the equipment used in this encounter were, and again, I quote:

Quote:
Gear:
Escort ZR-3 and LPP Dual Head up front
Valentine One
Note that this isn't a "sig-line" kind of deal, so unlike the .sig you see of his equipment, which NOW appears at the bottom of the OP of this thread, this particular quote comes directly from Ronin having TYPED IN, as BODYTEXT in the cited thread, to clarify the jamming equipment on that particular video. It is "time-stamped" evidence.

And yet again in his follow-up post later that same day, on that same thread, he cited:

Quote:
Yah.. thats why I have the LPP's to defeat the Stalker and LTI Ultralyte... the LTI I dont have a problem with JTG but the stalker I am happy with 300' performance..... hell if you are dumb enough to be speeding to 300' of a cop... you deserve the ticket...

Its a great combo, IMO
Ronin then sold the LPP to finance his purchase of the quad LaserStar system. Time-line would be between when this jam was posted, and 5/7, when he posted the walk-around of his new LaserStar setup.

A Walkaround of my Installs - Radar Detector Jammer Forum

Note that at this time-point, the ZR3s were also removed. If you don't believe me, you can easily reference Ronin's earlier videos, which showed his ZR3 heads' co-placement with the LPP heads up-front, including my discussion with him regarding crosstalk issues.

Not only do we have both Ronin's word on this as evidence (to say nothing of the duplicated video), but we even caught Audi in an outright lie in bending the timeline.

Again, a super-smart move by Audi there. Not obvious at all, right?

Sad. very sad.

What was that again, Bmw Power, about how honest you thought Audi was?

Ronin, you might want to clear this one up, too, on the Audi Forums that Audi has you now "advertising" on, so your good name doesn't get dragged into this, too.

^ Well-said to both.

I've learned that no matter how much it hurts, the truth is always the best policy.
