Default 3M Clear Tape for Laser Detection

I read in that other forum. That using 3M Clear tape aka diffusing tape. Applied to the front license plate and headlights. Reduce the laser signature quite a bit. Is their anybody that has tested this out yet.

no straight clear tape. Their where even some video done on it look like it worked actually pretty good at long distances close distances where iffy. The tape prevented the plate from being retroreflective or something If I call.

I personally dont think it will do a thing, but if you test it and it does let me know. I want to buy stock in it before everyone starts covering their cars in tape.

I have conducted this test with the 3M clear tape (clear duck tape) and a PLIII and it cut the detection PT by 50% from 1,400 feet to 700 feet +/- (pre-tape and post tape runs were conducted in base runs) with the 3M tape put on the lic. plate. There was several members banned from that "Other" site after these tests started popping up after a member brought this light because of the Veil developer flipped out and started drinking again because his product is a scam.

HMMMM...

3M tape for $7.00??? (Works)

VEIL for $80-90.00's????(Does not work)

Save that extra $$$ for a "Proven Working laser jammer".

Try the video in post #5. In the beginning, there are baseline runs. At 5.24, the owner applies the tape and it seems to be effective.

Aside from brother ELVATO's video documentation, like Audi Quattro mentioned, there was indeed corroborating evidence reported from *several* of the RD.net members who were searching for valid VEIL and LaserShield alternatives due to legal/aesthetic concerns.

I believe there were also tests done to this effect on the LaserProPark support Forums, too.

I would most definitely not recommend placing such tape over your vehicle's lighting elements, though. While dressing the plate is viable (note, however, whether this alteration is deemed "visibly" acceptable to you or your area enforcers will be based on individual judgment, of course), using the 3M "Clear" Duct-Tape on vehicle lighting elements will cause sufficient light scattering, and will make not only your head/fog/driving lights much, much worse for performance, but may even cut-down enough on the visibility of your rear tail-lights to warrant true safety concerns, particularly in foul weather.

Well clear tape is so cheap you could put it on when your gonna be traveling areas that contains allot of lasers and then pull off. Putting on clear tape probably looks less obvious then putting on veil. Since its clear. I would love to see some real world videos of this being tried out.
