I really appreciate the help you've given me on the phone. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm going to do but like you said I keep second guessing myself. Going back and fourth on this and doing internet searches are killing me.

I used to do the same thing. I finally just bought the only jammer I could afford then slowly saved money and sold the others to keep upgrading. Its like a disease!!

Again, mliebs8, simply look at the community data.

charles charlie charles initially had a dual-head LPP, which, upon testing with a PLIII, he found that it provided insufficient coverage to effect "true-JTG," with typical PTs nearing the 350 ft. range on his late-model Mercedes M-Class. This was later updated to a 3-head LPP, which allowed "true-JTG." Rear-of-vehicle, he noted that even a 3-head LPP was incapable of *any* semblance of sufficient protection.

It's easy to see why we - the individuals who have no monetary-gain interest in your setup - will readily recommend a three-head unit for you, in this case. Similarly, I would also like to say that if your area sees routine Laser Atlanta usage, that you should reconsider the LPP choice, as it has now been proven time and again that versus this threat, the LPP's performance is at-best inconclusive.

A dual-head LI has proven to be enough for not just this vehicle, but also effected "true-JTG" for the chrome-heavy version of the Nissan Frontier.

With the Blinder, your decision should be easy. Just go out to your garage and measure-off 18-inch radiuses, and mock-up a four-head installation. If all of your hardpoints rest within such radiuses, and you're willing to specifically point-reinforce your weakest areas with proper passive measures, this is also very viable. If there are many hardpoints that lie outside of the 18-inches of coverage and/or you feel that 4 heads is physically too many on your vehicle (impacts aesthetics and/or cooling efficiency), then again, the choice becomes clear.

When it boils down to hard data, your decision becomes much easier.

Oh really, my car has a simalar footprint to a H3 and mydual LPP JTG perfectly! I think it all comes to the application/installation

^ I agree - I do think it depends on the unique application.

Indeed, just sharing approximate frontal profile size and/or hardpoints does not make two vehicles "alike" in a sufficient way to judge the issue. There are many finer points that cannot be compared across such.

In this manner, tactical, I do agree with your assessment.

Additionally, I need to amend my posting above - my recall was incorrect, as he used a PL-II (not PL-III), and was only able to elicit PTs at appx. 150 ft. ( originally, I thought that the figure was in meters - again, my apologies mlieb8 and All )

That is much better.

charles charlie charles, however, cannot be said to have had an installation issue - as he tested his setup, first-hand, via use of his own LIDAR equipment. For his front side, no matter how he tried, he just could not get two heads to do the trick. And for the rear, even with three heads, he was still nowhere close.

The problem here is that mlieb8, if he/she is unable to conduct such first-hand testing, will need to err on the side of safety. The conservative bet would then to be to utilize three LPP heads, or, alternatively, go the LI route (or even AL G8, if he can still find such a setup, and utilize the "max jamming" option).

If his area's engagement scenarios do not routinely place him at-risk from below 300 ft., and he does not see use of the Laser Atlanta, then I'd say that a dual-head LPP would more than suffice.
