5yr old ticket & 2 yr old ticket.

I got a ticket over 7 years ago in NY State but never got a court date. 5 years later I got another one. When I went in to set up a court date they said I didn’t show for my last ticket. Now it’s been 7 years from the 1st ticket and 2 from the last and no date. I have moved 2 times and don’t know what to do. A year ago I had a cop friend run my license and he found nothing.
Should I just ignore it, update my address with them?

Were you also found guilty by default?

In most states it's technically up to you to:

a. Know when your court date is.
b. Keep the court aware of your current address.

Nothing so far, when i went in she gave me a stamped letter saying i went in just in case i get pulled over.
Looks like i will need to check with my cop friend again then go in.

There is a form to re-open an older case in NY courts.

See if you can find some info about it.

Getting stopped again in NY with a default, can be an impound and tow event.

Not fun.

Document everything.

I keep the paperwork she gave me in my car at all times. I figure even if i get pulled over and show that i will get off.

I still haven’t updated my address with them, they just take so frekin long to make court dates its ridicules.

My license is now in CT and apparently they cant pull up anything old without my old license number.
