So an officer was driving in Washington in his unmarked Charger and clocked a speeder at 56 in a 35. The officer just moved from Oregon though that's why it had Oregon plates on the unmarked car, but he was working as a state patrol officer in Washington with the same cruiser from Oregon? Then when someone brought it to his attention, he removed the plates and put WA plates on. But wait, the officer was trying to be creative by using out of state plates? I am confused, someone please clear this up for me!

The WSP had removed his WA plates From his patrol car and put the plates from his personal car that he had changed from OR to WA plates. He used his old OR plates and put them on his patrol car.

They are also now putting license tags like DEC 08 on there exempt from taxes vehicles. To trick people into thinking they are just another motorist

This police officer to it to an extreem and should be severely disapplined for driving an unlicenced car for police duty. If I had a plate from a different car I am sure i would be heavily fined.

Thumbs down Re: WSP Leo's think they are above the law to right tickets...

I totally agree he did something illegal, and just because he is a Law Enforcement Officer doesn't give him any right to, "Break" the law to, "Make" the law. It was highly morally wrong, and the officer knew he was breaking the law as soon as he unscrewed the plates. He just thought i'll get that speeder. What he neglected to realize in his utter lack for professionalism, and tact, and respect for public decency is that he was also wrong for doing what he did, I shouldn't say neglected to realize as this officer knew darn well what he was doing, and should be punished accordingly. He is no better than you, or me out there; and also has to abide by the Law's of the roadway. For example the officer I saw from another town that looked down and was speeding, and wrote himself a citation for speeding in a school zone. Now thats Professionalism and Tact. Not to mention as we used to say in the Army, "Integrity." He showed utmost level's of integrity by issueing himself a citation as well. He knows the laws more than anybody else out there, as he is a Law Enforcement officer. Thus, he has absolutely no excuse for his actions, and should be reprimanded accordingly.
