This video by Escort gives a very general idea of how Auto mode works and why the 9500I has an edge over other RD’s. They used the V1 as the leading brand RD because it’s so sensitive to falses, but they didn’t put it in any of the V1's filtering/muting modes.

The 9500I decreases sensitivity dramatically at 15mph and below, minimal filtering is done from 15mph and above and there is no filtering at all from 45mph and above from my testing. You could imagine how desensitized you would become if you had to listen to endless falses.
