wont let me reset - Escort Passport Radar Detector

I was told to try and reset my x50, i power it up and hold all 3 city, dim, and mute and nothing happens...

To reset Passport to its original
factory settings, press and hold
the “CITY,” “DIM,” and “MUTE”
buttons while turning the power
on. Passport’s display will
provide a “Reset” message,

yep i plug n the phone line then i hold city, dim, and mute. and nuthing happends

Use the power knob/button don’t un plug it..

While the RD is OFF, try holding the city, dim, and mute buttons at the same time and while those are pressed turn on with power button.

If this doesn't work at any point in time contact ESCORT RADAR, and send in your unit for recalibration. Rather send in to ESCORT RADAR for $59.00 than send that $59.00 to the court house because your X-50 failed you. The x-50 is a great unit, it does have some bugs though. From what I have seen they can be a finiky unit, you never know what to expect! They just don't take the abuse of other top end units such as a V1 or Bel STi.

When you say nothing happens, do you mean no power at all or it just doesnt reset. Do you have another power cord to try?

I have had many problems w/ Smartcord's going bad. Probably 6-8 of them already, I just send them in and have BelEscort send me a working one. This had all happened in vehicles where the voltage was fine.eye
