Default X-50 performance... not bad...

Took the X50 out of my wifes truck and decided to run it in my truck and give the unleaded 8500 a break. I've ran the 8500 pretty exclusively in my small truck and just felt like swappin them out.

After a day or so runnin around, got a sublte Ka "beep beep"... then a couple more,, so I check'd my speed and the thing rang out Ka beeps so I'm like... ok.. must be somethin up the road (not having them V1 arrows is kinda like runnin neked thru church.... scary!).

But low and behold... it kept on a beepin and I'm like ok.. we're over half the signal strength... where is he??? I kept lookin.. then got the solid tone (very loud and definately gets your attention at that point for sure)... I still didnt see him...

After about a couple seconds,, he was in the north bound lane (I was headed south) and he was mixed in with a bunch of cars at a red light. White unmarked, dark tint, plain jane Crown Vic running constant on Ka.

I picked him up.. and this is a "guestimation" at least a mile out and from around a 4 lane road gentle corner. Once I hit the straight away is when the signal stayed on him and ramped up. So... I must admit.. very nice warning distance from the Escort X50 Passport. Hard to say if it's any more or less than the unleaded 8500.. but I would say,, very close in performance.

The one thing I will note, is the X-50 seem's to be a little more quiet as I've now ran both the X-50 and the 8500 in the same areas during the same times of day. I will say.. I have had some falses from the 8500 in both K and Ka band (very short - usually a beep or two), when going thru the same areas.. the X50 didnt alert. (please note - where the alerts happen.. there are no store door dealies or none of that...)

I have complete trust in the X-50 and the 8500 unleaded as well as the V1.
Ramp ups at long ranges appear to meet the situation, especially if smokey has his constant on radar - on.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Oh, one note - I took the X-50 and put it low in my big truck (V1 high up on the windshield were the review used to be).. the X-50 DOES interefere with the V1, or vice versa.... So definately probably a good idea to keep them seperated and not run together. (V1 alerted Ka and K) (Passport alerted K) when sittin in the driveway powering them up.

The X-50 and the 8500 also alerted on each other as well... especially on power up (K band)

It’s amazing how some KA I can get a mile or two and others I get 1/2-1/4mi. I have an unleaded 8500 and a 9500I and the 9500I seems more active in its alerting?

Default the

The biggest question is, WHAT REVISION # X50 DO YOU HAVE? REV 5 (THE BEST) or the rev 6.1 or 6.3?
