Default 9500I ramp up problem

The problem with the 9500I’s audible ramp up there was beginning alert to full alert no mid range. Normal detectors would alert strength wise like:

1-1-1-2-2-2-3-3-3-4-4-4-5-5-5-6-6-6-7-7-7-8-8-8 (all the way to full alert)

9500's ramp up problem was like:

1-1-1-2-2-2-8-8-8 (jumps to full alert from a weak strength)

There now is a flash available with new software to fix ramp up. If yours has the ramp up problem you can call and request the ramp up flash/update. You will need to send it in to Escort but you should get it back in a week or two. I believe new 9500I’s built after November will have the ramp up fix incorporated in them.

Personally I like the ramp up (quieter) so I won’t be updating mine, but I will be getting a new Blue 9500I next month.

I believe the STI has the same problem, I hope Belscort trickles down the 9500I fix to the STI.

I'm undecided about sending mine in for the new firmware. Yes, I would like the ramp up to be more predictable, but aside from IO I've always had more than enough time to slow down the way it is. The 9500i is not as sensitive as my V1 on K-band, but as above I can slow down with more than enough time and it is sooo quiet at the other times. I'm going to wait for now.

Ya it was pretty bad for most, thank god they fixed it. I herd the STI has the same problem.

It appears that Belscort now has the ramp up fix available for the STI.

Anyone get a new 9500i with the "so called" ramp up fix? I am very hesitant to try another one.

I have had many confirmations, so it’s definitely available. Buy direct and you will get it, if you’re concerned just ask specifically for it when you order.
I even had a few confirmations from people who purchased from Best Buy.

I finally sent mine in for the software update and had it back for a day. Already 1 K-band and 1 Ka (35.5) band encounter. The sensitivity is definitely improved in my small sample size of 2 encounters, especially K-band. As for the ramp up, it seems better but I don't want to say for sure yet. I'll let you guys know as I gain more experience.

I need to hear that it is at least equal to the X50 ramp up and has the same or better range than an X50.

The GOL test in August indicates that the 9500i is just behind the Valentine, so that is pretty good.

The ramp up fix is pretty close to the X50 and the range is a bit better than the X50, mostly on KA & K now.
