Well... almost any angle. If you mount it high, as any smart RD user does, you can't read it at all, thanks to that stupid lip on it. Idiots.

This is getting very confusing! What's the difference btw the Bel Driver STi and the new Redline?

It seems as though Belscort is offering all of the models as either a Bel or an Escort/Passport.

Price points are about equal with the Bel offering a few more accessories included with the detector which Escort does not - for example, the Smartcord direct wire kit.

Its basically the 9500CI antenna in a dash mount, a supped up STi.

The beer shelf may be a problem but the 9500 series is much worse if you look at it that way. For me its not a problem because you don’t need to see the buttons because of voice alerts, and it only has 4 buttons to remember and not many settings. I guess we will see if its a problem when someone actually has it.
Some Escort dealers don’t sell Bel so they really needed a unit. At least now i can get a stealth unit for cheep if i want one now.

I guess if you were mounting it high on a very tall windshield and you were 5'2" it would be a problem. It may be just fine, and i kind of like the beer holder look.

Note: the top grills are for looks, the speaker is at the bottom for a high mount so they did keep this in mind.

I agree. People need to get one in their hands before jumping to conclusions. It may not be as bad as it initially looks.

Redline as in a tachometer, not color This is the only reason why I wouldn't buy one, but I'm confident that they will soon be offering it in blue also.

$499 is cheap?

All things considered, yes. If it has the performance of the 9500ci and can blow away the v1 with its dual antenna then 499 is about right. Time will tell. For those who want no holds barred sensitivity it gives them another good option.
