![]() | While driving today, Laser detection came on. I spotted the police car using the laser. Once the detector sounded, I slowed down about three seconds later with my reaction time. I thought I was caught. Maybe 80 MPH was too slow in a 65 zone?! Was I lucky or did I pick up a signal from the laser shooting at a car in front of me?

![]() | If the car ahead was close enough you probably picked up scatter from the car in front of you. Anything 12 over PSL is usually enough to get you a pullover but there are some highways were they go 20 over. On the scanner once I heard an HPD shooter tell a chase car he was looking for 20 over that day.

![]() | Like brother ProSpeeder said, there's just no way to tell. That's why I, personally, am very reluctant to post up "save" stories. There's simply never any telling why one was not pulled-over. It could be just that the enforcers were after bigger fishes that day. It could be that the particular enforcer you were up against simply felt that you weren't driving dangerously (even though you were speeding). It could even be that his gun threw an error code. Who knows. ![]() Yes, catching scatter/reflections or up-road beam is definitely possible, and yes, you can "outbrake LIDAR." But in cases like this, there's no real way to tell of a save, versus just blind luck.

![]() | Very true, I have had a few "Laser raves" but most could of been questionable. However if I was 10+ over PSL and I slowed without getting a ticket I still would call it a save, I very easily could of sped up if there was no warring at all. I have had a few Laser saves where I certainly could of been going faster without the alert.
