I'm thinking off blocking X-Band completely on my x50. I commute through Houston everyday, and the only legit hits I get are K, Ka, and Laser. I only get X hits around the city shopping centers.

Is there anything to consider before I disable it, or should I just leave it on...

Only if you are absolutely sure there is no X band in use. You could leave all bands on in Highway and go with LoX or Nox in city mode, then run C mode where false alerts are bad.

Block it if you wish but there still are a few X band guns rarely used in the Houston area by the Constables. Don't forget to turn it back on as several small towns in East Texas still use X, including some of the Indian reservations. Prospeeder has a Houston area Constable shooting X on film. I choose to leave my X band on because I get advance TX DPS alerts as the V1 X band falses to the Spectre they leave on. I like that adnaced warning before I get IOed by TX DPS.

Great tips. I'll most likely leave it on.

Since I leave in East Texas, I haven't run across one in small towns. They're all Ka, I guess their getting money from speed traps through there. Ha ha.

LoX and NoX in city mode is a great tool.

I was in the BIG city of Austin today, like you Kband, ka and lazer is the only thing used. All Xband is normally false signals. Id just came off the interstate in the Down town area, I started getting xband signals, and I thought false alert, Then the strength grew to level 9

I knew that was abnormal, so I started hunting for it, Turned the corner and looked up a side street, I saw a Leo, swung around the block and came in from behind. Sure enough he had Xband on . City cop in Austin

He didnt look like he was radaring though, just sitting there or maybe he was>G<
