Have you checked settings to make sure voice was not accidently turned off? If its not off then you probably have a speaker issue. I have a 9500i and never had this problem...Send it in to Escort!!

So you’re saying you plug into the headphone jack and get audio but when you don’t you here anything from the speaker?

My guess is you speaker is blown or there is a loose wire.

The speaker is blown for sure. It sounds like your 9500i was manufactured before last summer when Escort started installing their newer custom "high temp" speakers. Fortunately the speaker is very easy to replace since it slips into a rubber grommet which sits atop the circuit board and since the speaker features a plug which plugs into a jack on the circuit board.

Do the online chat thing with Escort, explain that your 9500i's speaker is blown, and that you simply need them to send you the new "high temp" speaker since the speaker is so easy to replace.

i have opened the rd , took apart the speaker , wires seem to be soldered . no signs of tear in the speaker , also checked continuity from the plug to the solder , positive and negative , all ok.., and all the vulume settings are on... quess ill try chatting to online with escort ,

There may be a small chance the output jack may be stuck and therefore bypassing the speaker. Its like leaving the headphones plugged in.

Hi spider,

Also, did you check the speaker for continuity? To check, simply unplug the speaker from its jack on the circuit board and then measure the resistance between the speaker's positive and negative terminals. The speaker's impedance is 32 Ohms. A voltmeter should show a resistance which is very close to this value. If the speaker shows zero or nearly zero Ohms, then you will have to send in your 9500i since the speaker created a dead short which has damaged the 9500i. If the speaker shows either a much higher resistance or infinite resistance, then its voice coil is simply blown.

Should be sticking out/down, or so it will be pushed up when a jack is put in to make contact. My guess is its ok if you can plug in a jack in and out with no trouble.
