Question Locked out x band source, no k band alert?

I noticed the other day while being in an area where I locked out an x band source. I triggered my Bushnell k band radar gun and the 9500i DID NOT GO OFF? But I didn't lockout k band there, just x band. I really don't want to have to send in my 9500i if I don't have to.

^ Strange.....

Did the proximity of your Bushnell somehow saturate the detector?

Would it be possible to try again with the gun farther away, or is this an area where having such a device "showing" may cause undue attention?

Did you lock out the original source in Expert mode? I have accidentally locked out a K false when locking out an X false by not seeing that it was there.

TrueLock is accumulative, so if you lock out an X false and within 1/10mi see a K false it can add and lock that out too.

^ Very good points as well - I had not thought to bring up these considerations as brother wilnevr is an experienced detector user, but nevertheless, these considerations are worth additional examination to be sure that they're not the cause!

Most of my Lockouts were of x band while in Spec mode. The reason why I used to use Spec mode was making sure I was + or - 30 mhz of the 24.150 k band. So another word's I would not lock out anything that was in the 24.120-24.180 range but if the k band was out of that range, I would lock it out. But Rip, I do like the "Multiple signals detected" voice alert of expert mode, man that is cool. And, w/ the voice on, getting a false POP alert on the 9500i is the best. It's the first rd I have had that says "POP Alert". By far the best POP alert on voice of all rd's even if it's a false alarm. For all who have to drive w/ POP off, they at least have to turn it on every once in a while w/ the 9500i just to hear that voice alert. PRICELESS AND A GOOD LAUGH FOR ALL TO LISTEN TO ON THE 9500i.

I completely agree with the use of spec mode, best way to be sure not to lock out a LEO.
The reason i use Expert mode to lock out a location is there may be another false the 9500I is locking out with out notifying you. In spec mode it will only show the strongest priority alert. TrueLock uses Expert mode technology to accumulatively lock out threats as well.

Usually in a "High Risk" area i use spec mode to see the frequency, than expert mode to be sure there aren't any hidden falses.
Totally agree with the usefulness and fun the voice alerts are. Got to love the POP alert and "Multiple signals detected", i freaked the first time i herd it.
